St. Mary’s Altar Society seeks to build up the parish family by embodying the virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary- kindness, patience, gentleness, and prayer. Looking to her as their model and guide, members strive to live out their vocations within the Cathedral parish. In a special way, they draw near to the Altar of Sacrifice, the source of every grace and strength needed for themselves and their families.
Tasks and Areas of Service:
Assist with parish fundraisers, events, and projects as needed
Host funeral luncheons
Assist with cleaning the Cathedral sanctuary for Christmas and Easter and the parish kitchen annually
Raise funds for liturgical supplies (hosts, wine, and candles)
Launder, repair, and replace altar linens, vestments, altar server cassocks, and surplices as needed
Organize and run bake sales and the rummage sale
Foster community among parish women through prayer, service, and fellowship.
Meetings are the 1st Tuesday of most months at 6:30 PM in the social hall. All ladies of the parish are welcome to join. See the bulletin or call for the next meeting date.
