Corporal Works of Mercy
Addressing physical needs:
Feed the hungry:
Donate food or work at a food pantry.
Give drink to the thirsty:
Offer water to those in need.
Clothe the naked:
Participate in clothing drives for the needy.
Shelter the homeless:
Help someone find a place to stay.
Visit the imprisoned:
Join the local, jail ministry team.
Care for the sick:
Attend to those who are ill.
Bury the dead:
Ensure the deceased are respectfully laid to rest.
Spiritual Works of Mercy
Addressing emotional and spiritual needs:
Instruct the ignorant:
Share the faith and speak truth in charity.
Counsel the doubtful:
Encourage and guide the uncertain.
Admonish the sinner:
Encourage repentance with truth and love.
Bear wrongs patiently:
Endure wrongs without gossiping or retaliation.
Forgive all injuries:
Forgive promptly and pray for the one who hurt you.
Comfort the afflicted:
Offer compassion and hope to the suffering.
Pray for the living and the dead:
Lift others up to God in prayer.
